Gaara(Japanese: 我愛羅) - fictional character anime and manga "Naruto" by Masashi Kishimoto. Before her death, the woman cursed the village and her son, but hoped that one day he would avenge her.

Thanks to the biju living in him, his main ability became the control of sand, and moreover, the sand itself, without any command, began to protect him. The whole village hated the child, while at the same time fearing his enormous power. One day, using his abilities, he was able to get a ball that the children were playing with, but when they saw him, they began to run away. His only friend was his uncle-educator (brother), with whom he could talk and who did not run away, unlike other residents, when he saw him.

At the same time, in the eyes of his father, Gaara became a failed experiment and a great danger to the residents of the village, so he sent several assassins to take his son’s life, but the boy’s sand defense mechanism stopped them every time. Then he ordered the murder of his son, perhaps hoping that the sand would allow him to get closer to the boy to a loved one. However, Gaara managed to survive and mortally wound his uncle in response. Before his death, he told the boy that throughout all these years he hated him, considering him guilty of the death of his beloved sister. Hearing these words, Gaara realized that he had never been loved by anyone, after which he knocked out the kanji for “Love” (愛, Ai) on his forehead; it was then that he experienced physical pain for the first time.

Main plot

Over time, thanks to the intervention of Gaara, he realized that the tendency to love himself alone and live for the sake of killing only leads to torment: for the first time, he found someone who completely understood him and shared his suffering. Struck by Naruto's desire to protect the people he loved, Gaara began to change and apologized to him for the first time. It was his desire to live to protect others that subsequently led him to agree to accept the title of Kazekage.

The uncle's last false words are a confession of feelings of hatred towards Gaara due to the death of his mother. Shocked by this event, he embosses the "kanji" sign on his forehead, which means "love", and kills everyone who gets in his way.

After the experiment fails, Gaara's father begins sending assassins to his son.

Despite the existence of a brother and sister (characters in Narutopedia are also mentioned, these are Temari and Kankuro), he experienced a lack of love and human communication. Gaara has large reserves of internal energy - chakra. This is partly due to the fact that he is a jinchuuriki. However, after the tailed beast is removed from his body, the degree of physical strength does not decrease.

Despite this, in battle Gaara prefers to stay at a long distance and rarely use taijutsu, a martial arts technique.

As they write in Narutopedia, Gaara has the ability to manipulate sand. In addition to the sand that is in the jug and is filled with his chakra, he is also able to control it from the outside.

He was given from birth natural forces earth (doton), wind (futon) and lightning (raiton), which he can combine with his sand, thus strengthening protective function, increasing the speed and the affected area itself.

His position in battle is to stand still and attack the enemy from a long distance. First, Gaara captures and paralyzes the target (desert coffin - "sabaku kyu"), and then crushes all parts of the body (sand funeral - "sabaku soso"), mixing sand with water.

To attack, the enemy needs to be able to pass through the shield of his sand, which protects Gaara automatically (sand shield - “suna no tate”). When successfully attacking an enemy, the hero uses the Sunu no Yoroi jutsu, which allows him to cover his body with a very thin layer of sand.
